Acceptable Use Policy
Effective version: 2026-06-23
StudyBuddyAI is an AI tutor that helps children learn and get homework help, set up and supervised by a parent or legal guardian. This Acceptable Use Policy explains how the service may and may not be used. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
In plain terms: StudyBuddyAI is a study aid. It is meant to help a child understand and learn — not to do their work for them, not to bypass a school's rules, and not to be used for anything harmful or illegal. By using the service, the account holder agrees to follow this policy and to make sure everyone they let use the account follows it too.
1. Purpose and scope
This policy applies to everyone who uses StudyBuddyAI: the parent or guardian who holds the account, and anyone they allow to use it — including each child they add and supervise.
The account holder is responsible for all activity under their account, including activity by the children they add. Parents are expected to supervise their children's use of the service consistent with the child's age and maturity.
If you do not agree to this policy, do not use the service.
2. Acceptable use
StudyBuddyAI is built to support legitimate learning. You may use it to ask questions, work through homework and practice problems, get explanations and study help, and review a child's progress.
Please use the service the way it is intended:
- Use it as a learning and homework-help tool, not as a shortcut to skip learning.
- Treat AI answers as a study aid to check and learn from, not as a final, authoritative source. The AI can be wrong — verify important answers, and have a child show their own understanding and working.
- Supervise children's use of the service and help younger children understand that the AI is a tutor, not a person, and may make mistakes.
- Follow your school's and teachers' own rules about getting help and submitting work. See our Disclaimer (/disclaimer) for more on this.
3. Prohibited conduct
You may not use StudyBuddyAI, and you may not allow anyone else to use it, for any of the following:
- Illegal use — using the service to do anything that breaks the law, or to plan, encourage, or carry out illegal activity.
- Harmful or unsafe content — using the AI to generate, request, or share content that is hateful, harassing, sexual or sexually explicit, violent, dangerous, self-harm-related, or otherwise harmful, or instructions for dangerous or illegal acts.
- Defeating safety and moderation — attempting to jailbreak, prompt-inject, trick, or otherwise bypass the safety filters and content moderation that protect children, or trying to make the AI produce content it is designed to refuse.
- Harassment and abuse — using the service to bully, threaten, demean, or abuse any person.
- Academic dishonesty — misusing the service to cheat or to violate a school's academic-integrity rules, including submitting AI-generated work as one's own where that is not allowed. StudyBuddyAI is a study aid, not a substitute for a student's own work (see our Disclaimer, /disclaimer).
- Infringing intellectual property — uploading, requesting, or sharing content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Privacy violations — using the service to collect, extract, or solicit personal information about other people, or to encourage a child to reveal personal details (such as their full name, address, phone number, school, or location).
- Security abuse — scraping, crawling, or harvesting data; accessing the service through automated means or bots; overloading, disrupting, or interfering with the service or its infrastructure; or reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to discover the underlying code, models, or prompts.
- Account abuse — sharing, selling, renting, or reselling your account or access; letting people outside your family use it; or circumventing access controls, plan limits, paywalls, or other technical restrictions.
- Malware — uploading, transmitting, or introducing any virus, malware, or other malicious or harmful code.
StudyBuddyAI is for your family only. There is no user-to-user messaging or public content: what a child enters is private to the family account.
4. Child safety expectations
Children's safety is our priority. The service applies automated safety moderation to what a child types and to what the AI returns, but no automated system is perfect, so parental supervision matters.
While we apply automated content moderation to help reduce exposure to inappropriate content, no filter is perfect and we do not warrant or guarantee that the Service will detect, block, or prevent all harmful, inappropriate, or inaccurate content. Moderation is a supplement to — never a substitute for — active parental supervision, which remains the primary safeguard for your child. You acknowledge and accept this when you let a child use the Service.
We ask parents and guardians to set age-appropriate expectations, stay aware of how their child is using the service, and review activity in the parent dashboard.
If you ever see content or behaviour that concerns you — including content the moderation should have caught, or anything that puts a child at risk — please stop and report it to us right away at support@getstudybuddyai.com.
5. Enforcement
We may take action to enforce this policy and to keep the service safe. Depending on the situation, that can include moderating or removing content, issuing a warning, limiting features, suspending or terminating an account, and reporting illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.
We can do this with or without prior notice where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users (especially children), other people, or the service. Enforcement under this policy is also governed by, and does not limit, our rights under the Terms of Service.
6. Reporting violations
If you become aware of a violation of this policy, a safety concern, or misuse of the service, please report it to us at support@getstudybuddyai.com. Where you can, include enough detail for us to investigate (for example, what happened and when).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the service and applicable rules evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the effective version shown at the top of this page.
