StudyBuddyAI is an AI-powered study and homework-help aid for children, used under the supervision of a parent or guardian. It is designed to help children understand concepts and practice — it is a learning aid, not a replacement for school, a teacher, or professional advice.
Please read this Disclaimer carefully. It explains the limits of what StudyBuddyAI can do, why its answers should always be checked, and how it is meant to be used honestly. It should be read together with our Terms (/terms) and Acceptable Use Policy (/acceptable-use).
1. Educational content accuracy
StudyBuddyAI uses large language models (provided through third-party AI services such as OpenRouter) to generate explanations, hints, examples, and practice. These models can be wrong. They may produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or out of date — and they can confidently state things that are simply not true (sometimes called "hallucinations").
This can happen in any subject, including math, science, history, and language — for example, an incorrect calculation, a misremembered date or fact, a flawed step in a worked solution, or a misleading definition.
Always verify important answers
Do not rely on the service as the single source of truth. For anything that matters — homework that will be graded, test preparation, or facts a child will act on — always check the answer against a trusted source:
- A teacher or tutor.
- The official textbook, class notes, or curriculum materials.
- Another reputable, authoritative reference.
The content StudyBuddyAI produces is provided for general educational support only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty or representation — express or implied — as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose of any content the service generates. You use it at your own discretion and risk.
2. Not professional advice
StudyBuddyAI is a study aid. It is not a substitute for professional educational, psychological, medical, or legal advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and nothing it produces should be treated as such.
If you have questions or concerns that call for an expert, please consult a qualified professional. For example:
- For learning difficulties, a suspected learning disability, a diagnosis, or special-education decisions (such as an IEP or accommodations), consult a qualified educator, school psychologist, or other specialist.
- For a child's health, development, or wellbeing, consult a doctor or licensed professional.
- For legal questions, consult a lawyer.
Never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something the service said.
3. Academic integrity and honest use
StudyBuddyAI is built to support learning — not to help anyone cheat or to do a student's work for them. Using it the right way means using it to understand and practice, so that the work a student turns in genuinely reflects their own learning.
What StudyBuddyAI is for
- Understanding concepts and getting clear explanations.
- Getting hints and step-by-step guidance to work through a problem.
- Practicing skills and checking understanding.
What StudyBuddyAI is not for
- Generating finished assignments, essays, or answers to submit as a student's own work.
- Completing graded work, tests, or exams on a student's behalf.
- Anything a student's school or teacher does not permit.
You are responsible for following your school's rules
Schools, teachers, and institutions have their own academic-integrity and AI-use policies, and these vary widely. Students (and the parents supervising them) are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to them.
Submitting AI-generated work as one's own may breach those policies and can carry real consequences — even when this service is used. The fact that content came from StudyBuddyAI does not make it acceptable to hand in if your school's rules say otherwise. When in doubt, ask the teacher whether and how an AI helper may be used.
We encourage parents to talk with their children about honest, responsible use — that the goal is to learn, and that getting help to understand a problem is very different from getting an answer to copy.
For more detail on permitted and prohibited use, see our Acceptable Use Policy (/acceptable-use) and our Terms (/terms).
4. Limitations of AI-generated content
Beyond accuracy, AI-generated content has inherent limitations. It may be generic or formulaic, may closely resemble content generated for other users (it is not guaranteed to be original or unique), and may reflect the biases, gaps, or stylistic quirks present in the data the underlying models were trained on.
Treat anything the service produces as a starting point to learn from and build on — something to read critically, question, and verify — not as a finished, authoritative product.
5. No guaranteed outcomes
StudyBuddyAI can help a child study and practice, but we cannot and do not guarantee any particular result. Learning depends on many factors outside our control.
We make no promise or guarantee regarding grades, test or exam scores, academic performance, admissions, or any specific learning outcome from using the service.
6. Parental supervision
StudyBuddyAI is meant to be set up and overseen by a parent or guardian, and we strongly recommend active parental supervision of a child's use — especially for younger children.
Because AI answers can be wrong and content should be verified, an involved adult helps a child use the service safely and effectively: reviewing what the child is working on, checking important answers together, and reinforcing honest study habits.
While we apply automated content moderation to help reduce exposure to inappropriate content, no filter is perfect and we do not warrant or guarantee that the Service will detect, block, or prevent all harmful, inappropriate, or inaccurate content. Moderation is a supplement to — never a substitute for — active parental supervision, which remains the primary safeguard for your child. You acknowledge and accept this when you let a child use the Service.
