Privacy Policy

Effective version: 2026-06-12

Draft — this policy reflects how Liravo currently handles data, but it has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. It will be finalized before a wider public launch.

Liravo is a study and homework-help app used by parents and their children. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights parents have over their family's data. We designed Liravo so that children cannot create their own accounts and so that a parent or guardian is always in control.

Who we are

Liravo provides web-based tutoring, homework help, and learning-progress tools for families. A parent or legal guardian creates and controls the account; children access the app only through a parent-issued login.

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@liravo.app.

Information we collect

Parent account information: name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), and billing details if you purchase a paid plan.

Child profile information you provide: the child's first name or nickname, grade level, selected subjects, interests, learning-support preferences, and any free-text note you add to help personalize tutoring.

Learning activity: study and homework sessions, questions asked, answers given, progress metrics, and AI-generated summaries and insights.

Conversation content: the messages a child exchanges with the AI tutor during a session.

Technical and operational data: log data needed to operate the service securely, enforce usage limits, and prevent abuse.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate users, personalize tutoring to the child's grade and needs, generate learning insights and progress reports for parents, enforce plan and usage limits, and keep the service reliable and secure.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information to serve targeted advertising.

Parental consent

Because Liravo is intended for children, we require the registering adult to confirm they are the parent or legal guardian and to accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms before any child profile is created. We record the date and policy version of that consent.

A parent can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the child's profile or the account (see 'Your rights and choices').

AI processing and third parties

Liravo's tutoring is powered by a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter and the underlying model providers it routes to). To generate tutoring responses, we send the relevant session content — which may include the child's first name, grade, and the messages and homework text in that session — to the AI provider for processing.

We use a payment processor (Stripe) to handle paid plans; Stripe receives the parent's billing details, not the child's data. We use an email provider to send account and access-related emails.

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service. We aim to share the minimum necessary information with each.

Safety monitoring

To protect children, child input and AI responses are screened by an automated content-safety check, and unsafe content is blocked.

For quality and safety review, an account may be flagged so that full session conversations are retained for a limited period. When enabled, this stores the conversation content described above. We automatically delete these detailed conversation logs after 30 days.

Data retention

We keep account and learning data for as long as the account is active so the service can show progress over time. Detailed safety/observation conversation logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.

When you delete a child profile or your account, the associated data is deleted as described below.

Your rights and choices

Access and review: parents can view their children's profiles, activity, and progress from the dashboard.

Deletion: parents can delete an individual child profile (which removes that child's sessions, messages, progress, and related records) or delete the entire account (which removes all children and the parent profile).

Withdraw consent: deleting the child profile or account withdraws consent for further processing of that child's data.

To exercise any of these rights or ask a question, use the in-app controls or contact hello@liravo.app.

Security

We protect data with industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls that isolate each family's data, hashed credentials, and least-privilege server access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your family's information.

Children's privacy

Children cannot register themselves; access is always created and controlled by a parent or guardian. We collect only the information needed to provide tutoring, we do not show third-party behavioral advertising to children, and we do not require a child to disclose more than is reasonably necessary to use the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the effective version above and, where appropriate, ask parents to review and re-consent.
